Obama: Deeply Concerned About Everything

by Frumpzilla on June 29, 2009

s-OBAMA-largePresident Barack Obama, today, released a precedent-setting statement on a live morning television broadcast.  No one knew ahead of time that the broadcast would take place, but since it only ran for 72 seconds, morning mainstays like The Today Show, Good Morning America and others were only minimally disrupted.

Our DC correspondent was in line at a Starbucks in the District and saw the whole thing on their wall-mounted TV.

Here’s our recap for those who missed it:

The President said, today, that he is “deeply concerned” about everything.  Honduras, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan – all deeply troubling.  Don’t even get me started on North Korea . . .

To paraphrase, the President went on to say that because the world sucks so much right now that he is spending far too much time standing in front of microphones held by partisan crybabies hoping he’ll say something stupid.

Everything that’s happening now, and pretty much everything that has happened for the last eight years, blows – what do you expect me to say?  So, I’ve come up with a solution that should free me, and my closest advisors, to do more, talk less.

Which brings me to today’s announcement:

until you hear otherwise, directly from me, I am “deeply concerned about everything.”  When I’m less concerned, I’ll personally tell the American people that I am . . . less concerned.

Look, I know there are members of the media that aren’t going to like this solution one bit, and to them I say – “tough” – it’s a new world, in case you hadn’t noticed.   Lately, you press guys seem more interested in fighting about who has the “biggest column,” anyway.

Maybe by the time I’m ready to talk to the press about current events, again, Old Media will have died a decent death and we’ll be able to move on.  Scoop this, guys.
